The South is coming up north this Friday, when Florida blues-rock group the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Georgia natives the Black Crowes sweep down on the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ, for a show. You don’t know the definition of a “power couple” until you know Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, who joined their individual solo groups to form an 11-piece super group. They won a Grammy for their debut album, Revelator.
The Black Crowes are frequently regarded as American rock ‘n’ roll royalty. The band has sold over 35 million albums and is known for its electrifying live shows.
The two bands are in the middle of a tour that will take them to Philly, Chicago and Indianapolis. Their last show will be in Michigan on Aug. 15. If you can’t make it out to the Garden State on Aug. 9, you can also see them at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY, on Aug. 10. For ticket information, visit www.ticketmaster.com.
