As you check out the biggest night in TV, make sure to look out for Elton John, who will be making his Emmys debut with performance tribute to the great and glittery Liberace. The 65th annual awards show will premiere on Sept. 22. The tribute will go hand-in-hand with what is sure to be a Liberace-themed night, as Behind the Candelabra, an HBO biopic about the singer featuring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, is nominated for 15 awards.
John was recently hospitalized with appendicitis, which forced him to cancel a number of shows, but it looks like the singer is up on his feet again. He recently received the first Brits Icon award, and his new album, The Diving Board, is due for release on Sept. 24.
The Emmys, which will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will air on Sept. 22.
