Sin City can be a little too glitzy for its own good, and it isn’t always as glamorous as it’s made to seem. Still, the Killers love their hometown and present a short, modern-day Vegas fairy tale in their new video for “Shot at the Night.”
In the clip, actress Bella Heathcote (“Dark Shadows,” “In Time”) acts as a housekeeper in the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, unhappily cleaning and going home to feed her cat and starting the cycle over again. But when she nearly hits actor Max Minghella (“The Social Network,” “The Ides of March”) with her car, both seem enchanted by each other. Heathcote encounters Minghella again when she’s at work, and Minghella and his friends convince her to go out for some fun. Heathcote and Minghella ride around town on his motorcycle, kiss and ultimately end up watching couples getting married by an Elvis impersonator in one of those oh-so-Las Vegas wedding chapels, all while Brandon Flowers sings the song out to the lit-up skyline.
“Shot at the Night” is one of two new songs from the band’s upcoming hits collection, Direct Hits. Direct Hits will feature 15 of everyone’s favorite Killers hits, such as “Mr. Brightside” and “When You Were Young,” NME reports. The other new studio track that will be included on the album will be the Stuart Price-produced “Just Another Girl.” “Shot at the Night,” which was produced by Anthony Gonzalez of M83, will be released on Nov. 4, and Direct Hits will be released on Nov. 11.
