One could posit that a singer like Scout Niblett-whose shows are well-regarded for their intimacy-would seem out of place at the most metal bar in New York City. However, greatness doesn’t require a time and place. Anyone who hears Niblett’s songs, which recall the best moments of PJ Harvey while still sounding fresh and modern, seems to be instantly won over, especially now that she’s put out one of 2013’s best albums in It’s Up To Emma. Even if you’re into something a little louder than Scout, you should make the effort to go see her. We guarantee that you’ll be wowed.
