Record Store Day comes once every mid-April (right around tax time, which can be either a good or a bad thing), but lately, the organizers of the event are holding a one-off celebration on Black Friday complete with a whole new collection of exclusive releases.
Topping the list of interesting curios available this Back To Black Friday (yes, that’s what it’s called) include a triple LP release from Bob Dylan called Side Tracks featuring songs that have not seen release on a Dylan album before. Also seeing release via the RSD folks is the 2013 remaster of Nirvana’s In Utero by Steve Albini, the albums original producer.
Other noteworthy Black Friday releases include a covers EP from The Civil Wars featuring their renditions of songs by the likes of Michael Jackson and Elliott Smith; a live acoustic album from Dawes recorded during their in-store performance at Grimeys in Nashville, and live albums from the likes of the Grateful Dead and Dave Matthews Band.
