In 2002, singer/songwriter Conor Oberst released a Christmas album under his moniker Bright Eyes. The album, which saw limited release on Oberst’s longtime label Saddle Creek Records, was originally recorded to benefit a Nebraska AIDS charity, but now the album is getting a much wider release. Saddle Creek will be releasing Bright Eyes’ Christmas album, simply titled A Christmas Album, on November 5th.
The album contains several Christmas standards peformed by Oberst and several other musicians in the very tight-knit Saddle Creek family, including members of Rilo Kiley, Cursive, The Good Life, and Tilly & The Wall, as well as members of Oberst’s other bands Desaparecidos and the Mystic Valley Band.
