In a statement posted on their Facebook page, Fleetwood Mac has announced the cancellation of their 14-date Australian/New Zealand tour due to John McVie’s health issues. McVie, the band’s bassist and one of the co-founders of the group, will be treated for cancer during that time. Fleetwood Mac has not revealed what kind of cancer McVie is afflicted with.
“We are sorry to not be able to play these Australian and New Zealand dates,” the band said. “We hope our Australian and New Zealand fans, as well as Fleetwood Mac fans everywhere, will join us in wishing John and his family all the best.”
The band released the four-song Extended Play EP this past April, the band’s first set of new material since 2003’s Say You Will.
