After Lady Antebellum hit the charts with their fourth LP, Golden, in May, the band opted out of touring so Hillary Scott could go on maternity leave and the trio could head to the studio. That studio time seems to have reaped some favorable results, because the band has just premiered their brand-new song, “Compass.”
“It’s a personal message, but not a preachy one, that’s gonna be a sing-along in the live show, not a sit-and-think about every single lyric,” Scott said about the new song. It’s a little delayed, but the band’s Golden tour will start up this November with openers Kip Moore and Kacey Musgraves. “Compass” definitely won’t be it. The band is still hard at work in the studio.
“We’ve really stumbled across and written some songs that we’re really proud of, and knowing that’s the way we work as a band, we’re gonna want them out as quickly as possible,” Scott said of a possible follow-up to Golden.
“Compass” is available for pre-order now and will be available on iTunes on Oct. 1. The song will appear on a deluxe edition of Golden, which is set for release on Nov. 12. You can listen to “Compass” below.
