Over the course of his career, Mark Lanegan has done it all. From his time in Screaming Trees through his solo career (as well as his collaborations with Isobel Campbell and Queens of the Stone Age), Lanegan has followed his own path into some strange and exciting places. It’s the sort of career that makes a retrospective inevitable, and that’s just what Lanegan is getting: the singer/songwriter’s retrospective album Has God Seen My Shadow? An Anthology 1989-2011 is due out on Light In The Attic Records on January 14th.
The 32-song anthology promises a dozen unreleased songs, including collaborations with PJ Harvey, Dinosaur Jr.’s J. Mascis, Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme. The deluxe edition of the album also comes with a 20-page book collecting rare photos and handwritten lyric sheets.
Mark Lanegan’s most recent album, Blues Funeral, came out in 2012. You can preview and pre-order Has God Seen My Shadow on Light In The Attic’s website.
