Sharon Jones is back! The soul queen is ready to roll again after delaying her new album and tour to have cancer surgery earlier this year. Sharon’s new album Give The People What They Want is slated for release on January 14, 2014.

Give The People was originally set to come out on August 6th, but both the album and the band’s fall tour were delayed when Sharon was diagnosed with a stage one tumor in her bile duct. Fortunately, the surgery was a success and Sharon’s ready to get back to what she does best, starting with a sure-to-be celebratory show at New York’s Beacon Theater on February 6th.

“Without a doubt, this album is we’ve ever recorded and I’ve been anxious for the world to hear it,” Dap-Kings bassist said in a statement issued to the press. “Everything will culminate in February at the Beacon.”
