It makes sense that Los Angeles’ The Record Company have opened for both Buddy Guy and Robert Randolph: the group play a down-home take on blues and roots that’s steeped in tradition yet played with vivacity and aplomb. Their upcoming EP, Feels So Good, finds the common ground with the dirty blues of John Lee Hooker and the manic garage rock of the Stooges, resulting in a truly unforgettable experience.
No song demonstrates what The Record Company are about quite like the title track of the new EP, which has gotten a lot of attention already due to its use in the trailer for the film Last Vegas. This ramshackle track ambles along energetically, anchored by a driving rhythm and Chris Vos’ soulful vocals. You can check out “Feels So Good,” as well as a live video the band recorded at a private concert in their native Los Angeles, down below exclusively through Elmore Magazine. Enjoy!
