The White Buffalo-the working name of songwriter Jake Smith-has gotten us pretty excited so far this year. Smith’s songs are a fusion of Americana, folk, punk, and blues; the end result is something akin to Johnny Cash meshed with Iggy Pop. His latest album, Shadows, Grey & Evil Ways, is his most ambitious project yet, tracing the story of a man named Joey White who returns home from fighting in a war to find that he has to re-adjust to life in a world that became far more violent than it was when he left. It’s a great leap forward for Smith, and it’s found him a larger audience as he goes on a tour that finds him stopping at New York’s Highline Ballroom on November 17th. When he gets there, you could be in the audience courtesy of Elmore Magazine.
We have two tickets to the White Buffalo’s performance at the Highline Ballroom, and we’re offering them to you, our readers. Simply send an e-mail to connect[at]elmoremagazine.com and you’ll automatically be entered to win! This offer ends November 11th, so act fast before it’s too late!
