A public remembrance of the late Lou Reed will be held this Thursday at Lincoln Center in New York City. The memorial will take place at the Center’s Paul Milstein Pool & Terrace from 1pm to 4pm.
A post on Reed’s Facebook page promises that the memorial will have “no speeches, no live performances, just Lou’s voice, guitar, and songs.” The recordings that will be played at the memorial were selected by the family and friends of the late rocker.
Since Reed’s death on October 27th, there have been an outpouring of tributes from those who knew him personally (wife Laurie Anderson and former bandmate John Cale) to those who were influenced by him (Okkervil River’s Will Sheff, Morrissey.)
