Neko Case’s evocative, personal new album The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You has won accolades all around (including several nice words from our editor Kevin Korber in the September/October issue of Elmore) and has even earned Case a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. But the Canadian alt-country singer isn’t resting on her laurels just yet. This weekend, Case released a new lyric video – a format that has been getting used a lot in 2013 – for The Worse Things Get‘s new single “Calling Cards.”
One of the more melancholy tracks on the album, “Calling Cards” speaks about longing for a loved one over great distance. The video pairs Case’s lyrics with old footage of happy families together. Get ready to shed some tears.
The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You is out now on Anti- Records. Watch the video for “Calling Cards” below.
