Paul McCartney’s latest album New finds the former Beatle more invigorated and excited about music than we’ve seen him in a while. Elmore‘s Ira Kantor said that the album “features a rejuvenated McCartney, one unafraid to let his hair down, rock out, get moody, sound sexy, or simply try new ideas in the studio.” It’s been a banner year for McCartney, and he’s capping it off with a documentary behind his “new” work.
Something NEW takes an intimate look into McCartney’s world and the creative process behind his most recent record. Directed by Don Letts (The Clash: Westway To The World), Something NEW premieres Thursday, December 5th on Viacom’s hi-definition music network Palladia. A re-broadcast of the one-hour documentary will air on VH1 Classic on Friday, December 13th.
New is out now. You can read more of Ira’s thoughts on the album in the upcoming isssue of Elmore.
