The Pixies have let go of another bassist named Kim. Former band member Kim Shattuck confirmed in a Facebook post on Friday that she was let go from the seminal alt-rock group only a few months after joining them. Shattuck said that she was “disappointed” to learn the news.

Shattuck first joined the Pixies earlier this year after bassist and original member Kim Deal quit. According to band manager Richard Jones, Deal left because she did not want to continue with the band as a recording unit. The Pixies released their first collection of new material, EP-1, earlier this year.

The Pixies kick off their next tour in Toronto on January 15th. There is no word on who they will get to replace both Kims on bass, but we assume that, given their track record, it will be someone else named Kim.
