The NME is reporting that Rod Stewart will reunite with his former band The Faces in 2015. Stewart confirmed the news himself in an interview with Boston radio station WZLX. “I think we have got much more of a chance of getting the Faces back together, in fact, Ronnie [Wood]’s office is talking to my people, and we’re earmarking 2015.”
Stewart hasn’t performed with the Faces since the 1993 Brit Awards. The Faces reformed in 2010 with Simply Red vocalist Mick Hucknall filling in for Stewart and former Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock filling in for the late Ronnie Lane. Stewart had intended to perform with the group at the 2012 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony but had to bow out due to illness.
Stewart’s last solo album, Time, came out in May. You can read our chat with Faces members Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones in the Influences section of the July/August 2012 issue of Elmore.
