The King of Mope is far from finished. In a Q&A published on the fan site True To You, Morrissey has confirmed that he is back in the studio working on a new album. He also confirmed that he has been working on what will be his first novel.

“In 2013, I published Autobiography and it was more successful than any record I’ve ever released, so yes, I am halfway through writing my first novel,” Morrissey said when asked if he planned to continue writing. He wouldn’t divulge any information as to what the novel was about, but the runaway success of his memoirs bodes well for Moz’s future writing endeavors.

Morrissey said even less about the new album, but given that he hasn’t put out a new record since 2009’s Years Of Refusal, any news on this front was bound to be eventful. What we do know is that one of the new songs will be called “Istanbul,” per a question from a Turkish fan about whether Morrissey liked playing there.
