Nowadays, David Lowery is probably most well-known for his outspoken pronouncements on copyrights in the age of streaming music services, but the reason Lowery is treated like an authority on the subject is because the man is a music legend. College rock fans probably remember him for Camper Van Beethoven, the groundbreaking band whose mix of country and punk paved the way for dozens of musicians who have followed them. 90’s kids may remember Lowery for Cracker, the post-Camper project that scored a hit in the early part of that decade with “Low.” Both groups of fans will have a chance to be satisfied as Camper and Cracker play back-to-back at the Highline Ballroom tonight. It’ll be fun to watch Lowery walk the walk after talking the talk.
