When most people think of the Byrds, the names “David Crosby” and “Roger McGuinn” come to mind. While they’re both great songwriters in their own right, the Byrds couldn’t have become who they were without Gene Clark. Clark never got the same amount of acclaim as his more well-known bandmates, but his work with the Byrds and his solo career have earned him an enthusiastic cult following that will be paying tribute to him in Brooklyn for two nights. With a band that includes the likes of Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold, The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser, Grizzly Bear’s Daniel Rossen, and Beach House’s Victoria Legrand, this tribute to Clark’s landmark solo album No Other will be unlike anything you’ve heard before.
