For many up and coming artists, South By Southwest is a bigger deal than Christmas. Thousands of bands will be descending upon Austin for a week of fantastic music, and now we know who those artists are. Honestly, we couldn’t be more excited.
Leading the list of over 700 performers slated to play SXSW are indie rock star Kurt Vile, former Hüsker Dü/Sugar frontman Bob Mould, Old 97’s frontman Rhett Miller, and Sun Kil Moon’s Mark Kozelek. Joining them will be a number of bands sure to be new discoveries for many of the conference’s attendees, including Elmore favorites like Deap Vally, J. Roddy Walston & The Business, The Howlin’ Brothers, Noah Gundersen, Garland Jeffreys, Billy Joe Shaver, Rusty Truck, Blackie & The Rodeo Kings, and the great Bobby Rush.
South by Southwest’s Music Conference lasts from March 11th through March 16th in Austin, Texas. The full SXSW lineup can be found here. Time to start making your schedules!
