The Boston Calling festival just got bigger. The festival, now in its second year, kicks off on May 23rd with Jack Johnson, Death Cab For Cutie, and Modest Mouse, but demand has gotten so high that the fest’s organizers have set up a second weekend in September headlined by The National, Lorde, and The Replacements.
The lineup, which was curated by National guitarist Aaron Dessner, also features the likes of Neutral Milk Hotel, Spoon, The 1975, The Hold Steady, The War On Drugs, White Denim, Future Islands, and more. “Collaborating on the programming of Boston Calling has been such a great experience for me and I feel we are getting better and better with each edition,” Dessner said in a statement released to the press. “This lineup is undoubtedly our most exciting one yet and I’m looking forward to returning with The National to play a full headline set with full production for our fans in Boston.”
The second weekend of Boston Calling takes place from September 3rd through September 5th at City Hall Plaza in Boston, Massachusetts. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the Boston Calling website.
