Coldplay are preparing for their new album Ghost Stories, and they’ve given us two tastes of the album so far: the ambient “Midnight” and the more radio-friendly “Magic.” This morning, the band premiered a new, high-concept music video for the song, which you can watch below.

Directed by Jonas Åkerlund, who has worked on music videos for the likes of U2, Ozzy Osbourne, and The Rolling Stones, the video for “Magic” features actress Ziyi Zhang (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) as a young magician with a scheming husband (Chris Martin) and a lovelorn assistant (also Chris Martin). The video is modeled after a turn-of-the-century silent film, which gives it a very interesting feel.

Ghost Stories comes out on May 19th.
