Jack White is set to have a busy year with the release of his latest album Lazzaretto in June. We’ve already heard one song off of the album, the instrumental “High Ball Stepper.” Now, White is going to release another song from the album on Record Store Day in a way that only he would do it.
On April 19th, White plans to record The World’s Fastest Single at his Third Man Records shop in Nashville, Tennessee. That morning, White will perform a version of the title track from Lazzaretto for a direct-to-acetate recording, which will then be pressed and sold later in the day. A limited number of tickets for White’s performance will be made available to members of the Third Man Records Vault series, but the store promises to have copies of White’s single for anyone who asks for it. Michigan-based noise-rock group Whirlwind Heat will also be performing at the Third Man Records shop for what promises to be their last live performance.
Lazzaretto comes out on June 10th via Columbia/Third Man Records.
