The Taste Of Chicago festival is the latest mixing of music and food, functioning as a celebration of the Windy City’s fine tradition of unique local cuisine and great music. Now, in its 34th year, the festival is bringing some big names to help usher in a new era for the long-standing tradition. This morning, the festival’s organizers announced a star-studded lineup topped by Nickel Creek, Janelle Monae, and Chicago favorite Jeff Tweedy.
Other acts performing at the Taste Of Chicago this year include Emmylou Harris, Gary Clark, Jr., AWOLNATION, Parker Millsap and Aloe Blacc. Indie rock band Spoon were originally listed as being a part of the festival, but their name was pulled from the lineup before the official announcement.
Taste Of Chicago takes place from July 9th through July 13th in Grant Park. All performances will be at the Petrillo Music Shell; tickets go on sale on May 22nd.
