Just because your music is laid back doesn’t mean that you can’t have a little bit of fun at the same time. Just ask Real Estate, who premiered their new, Tom Scharpling-directed video for “Crime” this morning on Funny Or Die. Scharpling’s videos are typically high-concept and hilarious, and this one is no exception; in it, actor Andy Daly plays Scharpling as a broke music video “auteur” forced to crowd-source Real Estate’s video for a quick buck. The end result includes undead skateboarders, barbershop quartet suits, product placement for a ceramic sculpture business, and a cameo from comedian Nick Kroll. All the while, Real Estate play in a Thai restaurant while being protested by the Westboro Baptist Church. We understand if that’s a lot to take in, but trust us; this video needs to be seen to be believed.
