A new documentary about the late singer/songwriter Elliott Smith is set to premiere this year at the San Francisco International Film Festival. Titled Heaven Adores You, the Kickstarter-funded film has released its first teaser trailer today prior to its festival debut.

The new teaser features audio recordings of Smith, as well as interviews with people who were close to Smith in life. Among the interview subjects in the film are Smith’s sister Amy, former collaborator Jon Brion, Kill Rock Stars founder Slim Moon, and many more. The film will also include rare footage of Smith, as well as previously unreleased recordings. The film is the first project of its kind to be allowed to use Smith’s music.
