Morrissey’s second attempt at a U.S. tour in two years isn’t going well. He’s already had to contend with a stage rush at the tour opener in San Jose, and now the members of We Are Scientists and PAWS are accusing the Moz of trying to cancel their show at the Observatory in Santa Ana, California.
According to a since-deleted Facebook post, PAWS claim that Morrissey demanded that the Observatory cancel their show, which was set to be played in a smaller room at the same venue. A more detailed account of the incident that PAWS posted this morning claims that Morrissey threatened to cancel his performance unless the other show was booted. Ultimately, the situation was resolved when PAWS and We Are Scientists agreed to go on after Morrissey had finished.
We Are Scientists didn’t have an official response to the controversy, but they did take the time to take some pot shots at Morrissey on Twitter. Morrissey’s representatives have yet to comment.
