Jam-band icons Phish are coming back with a new album. Titled Fuego, the album is set for release on June 24th on Jemp Records.
As this year marks Phish’s 30th anniversary as a band, they decided to do something special for the new album by bringing Bob Ezrin as producer. The legendary production guru behind Pink Floyd’s The Wall and Lou Reed’s Berlin took the band to Nashville and Muscle Shoals to record the album. Phish had actually written the album well before meeting with Ezrin, and they played a rough version of it at their annual Halloween show instead of getting “in costume” as another band.
Ever the road warriors, Phish will also be on tour for most of 2014 in support of Fuego. Their U.S. tour kicks off on July 1st at the XFINITY Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts and wraps up on August 31st at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Colorado. For more information, visit Phish’s website.
