Singer/songwriter Ellis Paul comes from a long tradition of storytelling troubadours, in case you didn’t get the memo from the Woody Guthrie tattoo on his arm. Since the 1990s, Paul has put out reliably great, affecting music that recalls the best moments of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and James Taylor, among others. His work has found devoted fans in Hollywood, as well; his music has been featured frequently in the films of the Farrelly Brothers (Hall Pass, Shallow Hal). However, Paul truly bares his soul to the listener in person; his live shows are among the most affecting in music today. His current tour takes him to New York’s SubCulture, to where we wholeheartedly recommend making a trip. To purchase tickets, click here.
