These days, a live performance from The Strokes is a rare thing. Sure, the band’s latest album, Comedown Machine, came out last year, but the group seem more interested in extracurricular activities these days, with Albert Hammond Jr. releasing a new EP and Julian Casablancas prepping a new album for later this year. Of course, when the five of them get together, they always bring their best (even if it looks like they aren’t trying). The band will be headlining this year’s Governor’s Ball alongside Jack White and Outkast, but they’ll also be warming up with a gig at the Capitol Theater a week before. If you want to see some great rock ‘n’ roll, but aren’t too keen on standing in the mud, this is the show for you.
