If Gregg Allman is to be believed, this year will be the end of the Allman Brothers Band as a touring act. To commemorate this, the band have announced the final shows of their 2014 tour, which will make up for the postponed shows at the legendary Beacon Theatre.
The band were forced to cut their annual Beacon residency short in March of this year after Allman came down with a case of bronchitis. The make-up shows will take place over four days in October (the 21st, 22nd, 24th, and 25th), with two extra Beacon shows on the 27th and 28th.
The future of the Allman Brothers Band has been uncertain since guitarists Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks announced that they would be leaving the band at the end of this year. Allman told Relix that their departure would spell the end of the Allman Brothers Band as a touring unit, but he later told Radio.com that he would consider keeping the band going with new guitarists.
