Robert Plant has officially announced the release of a brand new album. Titled lullaby and…The Ceaseless Roar, the record is scheduled to be released on September 9th via Nonesuch Records.
The album, which is Plant’s first since 2010’s Band Of Joy, features 11 songs, nine of which were recorded with his new band, the Sensational Space Shifters. In a statement released to the press, Plant described the album as “trance meets Zep.” “The whole impetus of my life as a singer has to be driven by a good brotherhood,” Plant said. “I am very lucky to work with The Sensational Space Shifters. They come from exciting areas of contemporary music.”
Fans can get a first taste of Plant’s new album with the song “Rainbow,” which is streaming at NPR Music. “Rainbow” will be available to download from all online retailers tomorrow, June 24th. In the meantime, you can check out a trailer for lullaby and…The Ceaseless Roar below:
