The New Pornograhpers – the indie-rock supergroup that features A.C. Newman, Destroyer’s Dan Bejar, and Neko Case – are back after a long hiatus with a brand new album. Brill Bruisers is set to come out on August 26th on Matador Records.
“This is a celebration record,” said Newman, who recorded most of the record in Woodstock, New York alongside producer and band member John Collins. “After periods of difficulty, I’m at a place in my life where nothing is dragging me down, and the music reflects that.” The band have already given listeners an early taste of what’s to come on Brill Bruisers with the title track, which you can listen to in the interactive video below. The song is also available for download on iTunes if you pre-order the album.
The New Pornographers will also be on tour this year following a few festival dates in their native Canada. Their tour kicks off on September 6th at the Majestic Theater in Detroit. For more tour dates, visit the Matador Records website.
