Pure X’s new album, Angel, is one of those perfect summer records. It’s a breezy, relaxed record that evokes some of the best memories of 70s AM radio in all of its easy glory. These boys have definitely come a long way from the reverb-laden stuff of their early work. As a live band, they’ve only become more muscular with the addition of guitarist Tommy Davidson, and his work helps the bands recorded textures and nuances translate perfectly on stage. Their tour finds them coming to the Echo in Los Angeles, and we couldn’t think of a better group to see on a summer evening on Sunset Boulevard. To purchase tickets, click here.
