This year, we lost one of the real titans of American music when Pete Seeger passed away at the age of 94. Seeger’s influence on music and culture is incalculable, and several of today’s finest musicians will pay tribute to Seeger in an event organized by WFUV, Gina Belafonte (daughter of Harry Belafonte), and Kitama Jackson (Seeger’s grand-daughter). Belafonte and Jackson will host an event featuring Amanda Palmer, Anti-Flag, The Chapin Sisters, Mike + Ruthy, and many, many more. What’s more, the show is free and open to the public. (It’s first come, first served, though; get there early!) For more information, visit the Summerstage website.
