If you were at a certain age in the 1990s, you probably remember Teenage Fanclub as the band behind the masterful Bandwagonesque, an album with hooks so sweet that it’s hard to believe that the band were grouped in with the likes of Nirvana and Screaming Trees at the time. Lately, though, their work has veered closer to pure power-pop, with albums like Songs From Nothern Britain and Shadows showcasing their janglier side. The band rarely make trips to America, so any stateside opportunity to see the band is well worth taking, but this performance on the banks of the Hudson River is a free show, to boot. Basically, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t go.
