Two legends on one bill? This is the kind of show that we’ve just got to see. John Hiatt is riding a wave of success following the release of his excellent new album, Terms Of My Surrender. A music veteran who’s played with everyone from Bob Dylan to Iggy Pop, Hiatt’s gruff, down-home take on roots is well worth seeing. Mahal, of course, is one of the key figures in American music whose melding of blues with music from around the world is nothing short of revolutionary. We’re still in disbelief that a show like this is happening, so if you happen to be in Salt Lake City, get yourselves down to the Red Butte Garden.
