Arcade Fire swiftly released a calmly eccentric video for “You Already Know,” the fourth since the October 2013 release of Reflektor. Shot from the first-person perspective, the video seems conventional…until the lead vocals emerge from a moving mouth of a painting on the wall.
The washed-out, spinning shots of Arcade Fire performing in an upstairs bedroom are obviously missing frontman Win Butler, who directed the video. Keyboard player Régine Chassagne finally carries a mirror into the room, smiling, revealing her husband as the man behind the camera, at which point Butler immediately sings his titular line, “you already know.”
