Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has just announced that his second solo album will be released in 2015. While currently on tour with the band, Flowers is working with Ariel Rechtshaid — producer for Haim and Vampire Weekend — to release a follow-up to his 2010 debut solo album Flamingo.
“He’s taking me out of my comfort zone,” Flowers told NME. “Normally I make demos and they’re pretty similar to how the song ends up, but he’ll take a song and be like, ‘I hear this’. It’s incredible – his palette and his range, what he’s able to say. At first we were butting our heads together, but now we’re hitting it off.”
Even with the 2013 release of Direct Hits, the Killers’ greatest hits album, Flowers doesn’t see the band packing it in any time soon. “I wanna keep being in this band” he said. “I don’t think we’ll get too morbid about it, I think we wanna keep going.”
