The injury suffered by Kings Of Leon drummer Nathan Followill may have more of an effect on the band than previously expected. Two weeks after Followill’s injury resulted in the band cancelling a performance in upstate New York, Kings Of Leon have now cancelled performances on August 28th and 29th in New Jersey and Pennsylvania respectively. The cancellations also cast some doubt on whether the band will be able to perform at the Made In America festival in Philadelphia on August 31st.
Followill suffered a broken rib from the August 10th bus accident that occurred near Boston. The band were originally optimistic that he would be ready for a return to the stage on August 28th, but that turned out to not be the case. “After further evaluation, a doctor has ordered [him] to remain on rest for one more week,” the band said in a statement.
Followill, for his part, has been anxious to get back on the road, taking to Twitter to express his disappointment with the news. “I’m so bummed to have to cancel more shows but I need to be fully recovered before I get back,” he said.
