Well, at least we know that Morrissey is still alive. The singer posted another rant on True To You (the fansite that he approves of) blasting his record label for not doing enough to promote his latest album while also sneaking in an announcement of his return to the stage.
Morrissey’s statement began with praise for a series of fan-made videos for the songs off of World Peace Is None Of Your Business, and Moz went off to the races after that. He then criticized Harvest Records (the label that put out World Peace) for failing where many of his fans had succeeded. “A similar document ought to have been harvested by the record label,” he said with a not-too-subtle jab, “but please understand that the pop or rock industry can be as dedicated to perpetuating public deception as the world of politics itself.”
That set off a peculiar rant from Morrissey, one that covered everything from the Iraq War to Malaysian Flight 17 with a plea to stop watching Fox News and the BBC added in for good measure. He then announced his return to the stage after cancelling much of his American tour earlier this year, saying that he had booked a show in Lisbon on October 6th.
World Peace Is None Of Your Business is out now.
