Next year, The Who will be commemorating their 50th year as a band, and they’re asking for your help. The band is asking fans to donate rare concert footage (audio or video) for inclusion in some of the band’s upcoming 50th anniversary releases.
Citing the bootleg film The High Numbers At The Railway Hotel as an example, the band are looking to fans to see what else they have. Fans whose releases are selected will be given VIP tickets on The Who’s upcoming tour, and the bootleg will see an official release. If anyone has a bootleg that they’d like to share, they can contact the band at thewho@umusic.com.
In addition to any bootleg releases, The Who will also be releasing a career-spanning greatest hits collection, The Who Hits 50!, on October 28th. Daltrey, Townshend and company will also embark on a world-spanning tour that both have promised to be their last such jaunt for a very long time.
