ZZ Top have cancelled their touring plans indefinitely after bassist Dusty Hill fell and injured his hip while on the band’s tour bus. The band had been touring with Jeff Beck since August.
Fans with tickets for the remainder of the tour with Beck (including tonight’s show in Clarkston, Michigan; tomorrow’s show at the Seneca Allegany Casino in upstate New York; August 30th at Harrah’s in Atlantic City; and August 31st at the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods in Connecticut) are subject to a refund at the point of purchase, but fans who have tickets for ZZ Top’s fall tour are encouraged to hold on to their tickets as those dates may be rescheduled.
Beck released a statement expressing his disappointment that the two would no longer be touring together. “While we are disappointed to not continue this tour with ZZ Top, our thoughts and best wishes are for Dusty to have a speedy recovery,” he said.
Beck will still be finished out the tour on his own. Tyler Bryant is scheduled to open for Beck on those dates.
