We have good news and bad news for AC/DC fans: the band are preparing to release their first album in six years, but they’ll be doing so without Malcolm Young, who is no longer in the band. The new album, Rock Or Bust, is due out on December 2nd, and it will feature Malcolm’s nephew Stephen filling in on guitar.
In a press release, the band said that Young would not be returning to the band “due to the nature of his condition.” Both Young and his former bandmates haven’t given any specifics as to what that condition is, but it is believed that the guitarist suffered a stroke last year. The band deliberated retirement, but they ultimately decided to soldier on while Young took a leave of absence.
Fans will get a taste of Rock Or Bust this October when Major League Baseball’s postseason kicks off. The band’s aptly-titled “Play Ball” will be the official song for the events.
