Aretha Franklin is coming back with a brand new covers album. Aretha Franklin Takes On The Great Diva Classics comes out on October 21st of this year.
The album finds Franklin taking her turn on songs made popular by her contemporaries and by artists who may very well have looked to her for inspiration. Songs by Etta James, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, and Barbara Streisand get the Franklin treatment, as do songs from newer artists like Adele, Sinead O’Connor and Alicia Keys.
