Fans of Deer Tick know about the band’s fondness for covers. Hell, this is a band who created a separate band dedicated to covering Nirvana. This year, the band are delving back into their record collection for their string of 10th anniversary shows this December at Brooklyn Bowl. Honestly, we couldn’t think of a better way to ring in the new year.
The band will kick the festivities off on December 26th when they present their take on NRBQ’s Tiddlywinks. From there, the setlist will expand to include The Beatles’ Meet The Beatles!, Elvis Costello’s My Aim Is True, Devo’s Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!, and Lou Reed’s Transformer. The residency wraps up with a New Year’s Eve setlist chosen by fans.
Deer Tick’s six-day residency takes place at Brooklyn Bowl from December 26th to December 31st. Presale tickets go on sale at 12 noon on Ticketfly with the password “DEERTICK10.” Tickets officially go on sale on Friday, September 12th.
