Jackie Venson, a young blues rock guitarist and vocalist, has released a new singe off her debut LP The Light In Me. “What I Need” sounds like a rock ballad, with powerful electric guitar, but Venson’s soft, sultry vocals are nothing but blues. The Austin native fell in love with music at a young age and her knack for songwriting quickly caught the attention of producer Eddy Hobizal, who helped Venson release her self-titled project.
“Venson…has the boisterous attitude as well as the creative drive to create tunes her way without bending to any so-called rules, and those elements will spark and have her elbow her way to the front of the line without a misstep,” said Soulbounce.
Jackie Venson has a few upcoming shows in Texas and New York. You can listen to the young, soulful talent- alongside Gilbert Ayala on drums and Alån Uribe on bass- on “What I Need” here.
