Carl Barât seems busy with the Libertines reuniting and performing, but has just released a single with his new band: introducing Carl Barât & the Jackals. The group, which was formed through online ads, just released their first single off the currently untitled debut album.
“I actually started making this record solo, but the long and short of it is I just didn’t like my own company,” said Barât. “I was lucky, because I found a bunch of people who genuinely fit together as a gang.”
“Glory Days” is a modern power-punk song with driving guitar licks and powerful, expressive vocals. It features Beastie Boys percussionist Alfredo Ortiz and the rest of the album, which was recorded in LA and will be released in 2015, will have other guest musicians.
