Alt-rock icon Bob Mould has been experiencing a career renaissance of sorts. His last two albums, Silver Age and this year’s Beauty & Ruin, find the former Hüsker Dü and Sugar leader reinvigorated, as if he turned back the clock and discovered what made people love his music in the first place. Fans will tell you that Mould and his band (now featuring Jason Narducy on bass and Jon Wurster on drums) are a force to be reckoned with live, and fans who haven’t seen him can get a taste of what that’s like with the new video for “The War.”
Directed by Dave Markey (1991: The Year Pun Broke), the video follows Mould and his band at a vigorous live performance and in the touring van afterwards. It’s an intimate view into the life of a touring band, a life that Mould is quite accustomed to. Stick around for the surprise guest star at the end. You can watch the video below.
Mould and Markey will be doing an “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit on September 9th. Mould is currently on tour in support of Beauty & Ruin; you can find tour dates near you by clicking here.
